The district's three northern counties have a new transportation engineer.
Patrick Ryan, P.E. is the new Area Engineer for the Beaumont District's Jasper, Newton and Tyler Counties. Ryan comes from Silsbee. However, his experience in TxDOT has taken him around the state.
Ryan is an 8th generation Texan with roots going back to at least the 1820's when his ancestors settled in the Hardin and Tyler County area.
Ryan graduated from Lamar University in 1994 with a degree in Civil Engineering. His summers while in college included working in the Silsbee Area Office, Kountze Maintenance Section, and the District Lab. In 1995, he went to work in the West Texas town of Junction, where he served in the area office.
In 2000, Ryan transferred to Livingston where he earned his Professional Engineering (P.E.) license. Afterwards, in 2005, he became the Area Engineer for the Fort Stockton Area Office.
A big welcome to Patrick Ryan and his family as they make Jasper their home and work to make the area's highways among the best in the department.
