Port Arthur and TxDOT turn dirt on FM 365

The City of Port Arthur and TxDOT have officially kicked on the rebuilding of Southeast Texas' important highways.

Each day, FM 365 between US 69 and West Port Arthur Road carries approximately 15,000 vehicles. That's quite a big load for a two-lane highway that's seen businesses and industry grow up in a relatively short amount of time.

Beginning in June, APAC-TX will rebuild the highway to a five-lane highway with a left-center turn lane. The project has been one that's been in the works for some years. However, cooperation with the City of Port Arthur, Mayor Delores Prince, Jefferson County, and economic stimulus funding helped move the project to construction.

Look for the project to take approximately two years to complete.
