Are you one of the millions of Texans estimated to hit the highways this Thanksgiving?
The American Automobile Association (AAA) estimates approximately 3.3 million Texans will travel 50 miles or more away from home this week. Travel experts say that's about 5% more than last year. The AAA says this is probably due to those who chose not to travel this past spring and summer.
Here in Southeast Texas, holiday traffic will probably be pretty high. However, the good news is that with the exception of emergency closures, TxDOT doesn't expect any lane closures.
So, enjoy your holiday and make sure to buckle up.
